My niece just got busted for being in possession of alcohol last Friday. She is only 15 years old. According to my niece, this is what happened. She was at a party at a friend's house. They apparently had a good deal of alcohol available, so most all of the kids were drinking. The party got out of hand when some boy was dancing uncontrollably near some candles and he knocked them over. Some curtains caught on fire. The neighbors noticed and called the fire department. The kids were all freaking out, but none of them were sober enough to have sense to know what to do. So the fire department showed up, and then the cops were called because of all the minors drinking alcohol. My niece was there and so she was busted with the rest of the teens. She now has to go through a alcohol awareness class specifically for minors in possession. She's not happy about it, but things could have been much worse. I told her to ask the judge to approve an online course because both her parents work full time and it will be a hardship for them if they have to miss any work to take her to a classroom.
