The number of people abusing prescription drugs, and illegal narcotics, is rapidly rising. As more instances of drug abuse occur, employers are beginning to see the effects drug use has on their employees and their families. In order to maintain workplace harmony, and provide employees with much needed support, Drug Education Classes have grown in popularity.

Why is Drug Education Important

While it is easy to assume that everyone knows the dangers of drugs, most people have received their drug use education from watching television documentaries and movies. Few people truly understand the various forms of drug abuse, and the long term physical or mental effects of abusing drugs. Educating people about drug abuse is often the first step in preventing, or treating, addiction.

Some employers feel that online drug education is not something that their business needs to worry about. Even if an employer does not actively suspect anyone they employ of using drugs, it is possible that the family member of an employee is suffering because of substance abuse. Providing these courses can not only help others recognize and avoid drug dependency, they can also help employees confront family members about dependency issues which may make them a better employee.
