If you are looking for an alcohol education class because of a DUI, try looking at online classes. I live in North Carolina but got a DUI violation in Connecticut this past summer. It would have been impossible for me to fly back to Connecticut to take the in-person classes that my judge originally assigned. My lawyer contacted him and was able to get approval to take a 12 hour online alcohol awareness class instead. It was great because I could stay at home and take it at my own pace. I really wanted to put this situation behind me, so I devoted about an hour a night over 2 weeks. The class was interesting and really made me think twice about drinking alcohol at all. I was caught for my DUI after a wedding party during which I definitely had too much, but I don't normally drink and could really take it or leave it. After learning all the risks and repercussions, I'm ready to indulge in something healthier. Ask your judge if you can take your court ordered alcohol awareness class online. You'll be glad you did!
