When I came home one night from work early to find my son and his friends drinking alcohol, I knew that I had to take drastic action and quick. I met with the other parents, and we all agreed that Alcohol Awareness Classes were in order. Even though I had taught my son that alcohol was not something to take lightly, and that he could even enjoy it in moderation when he got older, I clearly did not impress upon him how serious alcohol really is. The boys were not happy about taking the class, but I followed along with them so I could also learn about what they were going to be learning. The class that we sat in on was very informative, and I found myself learning things I had not previously been aware of. The kids also learned a lot about alcohol, especially the harm that can be done by abusing the substance.
